Dragonflies Preschool is run by a voluntary board of trustees of parents and carers. The trustees are responsible for setting preschool policies, fundraising and organising social events. It is not responsible for the day-to-day operation; that responsibility lies with the staff. The trustees are governed by our constitution which is kept in our policy file and available to view at all times.
Being a trustee of the preschool is an enjoyable and worthwhile experience, giving you a chance to have an insight into your child’s early-years’ education. As children are only at preschool for a short time, we welcome new people to keep the preschool running. It’s a great way to meet other parents and it brings fresh ideas.
Whilst the day-to-day running costs of the preschool are covered by fees and government grants, we rely on the trustees fund-raising activities to provide any additional equipment, resources and toys.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in the Autumn term and this is when the trustees are elected. Usually one member of staff attends committee meetings which are held approximately twice a term.
If you are interested in joining as a trustee, or helping out at an event, please speak to a trustee or staff member. Any contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated.
Our current trustees are:
Elizabeth Pearse
Kirsty Willett
Ingrid Betzler
